The stadium has been designed as a provincial facility, capable on completion of accommodating African League fixtures. In its’ first phase it offers capacity for 15,000 spectators, a regulation soccer pitch and an eight lane athletics track. The rake and configuration of the stand optimises spectator viewing conditions while maintaining safe and efficient access / egress. The first phase provides a covered executive viewing and media area, players changing facilities and spectator support facilities.
The master plan provides for an increase in capacity to 30,000 spectators, provision of retail and restaurant areas, the creation of a sports academy, two training pitches, coach park and surface parking for 950 cars. The academy designed as a efficient ‘sports box’, offers training facilities/spectator viewing for boxing, wrestling, basketball etc.
